Year 11 Bulletin

Dear Families, 

We are proud of the excellent start our year 11's have made to this year. It's with pleasure that we launch our Autumn edition of the  Year 11 Bulletin. We hope you find it  useful and informative. Please do pay particular to the key dates. The Year 11 team look forward to seeing you at the Y11 Information Evening where you will further hear how we will be supporting your child through this academic year.

Pupils should sign up by returning the permission slip to the office, hard copies of this slip are available from the office  Registration is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Year 11 Information Evening :

The Year 11 Information Evening will be held for  families on Thursday 11 October 2018  (see details above). You will be provided with an overview of what to expect throughout the course of Year 11 along with who to contact with any further questions. You will find out about our  Going for gold intervention program  and information on  how you can best support your child.


Google Classroom:

There is a Google Classroom online portal for all Year 11 pupils.  All pupils have been invited, so should accept this invitation ASAP.  They can also sign up to the stream by using the code vid5qh.  The stream is updated on a regular basis and pupils should check it regularly for updates on Year 11 activities and KS5 information. 


Sixth Form and College: 

Please see this document  detailing college open days.  The ones selected are within a 2 or 5 miles radius from Dunraven school.  Further information can be found on the school or college websites, which are listed in the document.

The application form for Dunraven Sixth Form can be found here Before you fill in this application, you need to ensure you have the completed the reference form to attach to your application. A blank copy of the form can be downloaded from the link above. Please ensure that you rename the file with the following format Surname, First name.

Most college applications will ask for a personal statement.  You can use this information to help support with this -

Prom Committee:

So many Year 11s have signed up to be involved with this year’s prom! We are currently looking at fundraising and the pupils have some great ideas - watch this space!
