Any family wishing to apply for a Reception place at Dunraven School must complete the Common Application Form (CAF) from your Local Authority.

Please note, a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) is no longer required for September 2021 entry. If you are applying for an out-of-year group place or for deferred entry, you must notify the school in writing by email to 

The closing deadline to submit the CAF was 15 January 2021. Late applications may still be submitted. Please refer to our Admissions Policy for information about the process.

Please note the following key dates in the application process for Reception 2021 entry:

September 2020: Prospectus and admissions information available from the school and the website and applications begin

Friday 15 January 2021: Deadline for submission of the Common Application Form (CAF) to your home Local Authority

February 2021: Governors’ Admissions Committee review applications received under the Medical/Social criterion

Friday 16 April 2021: National Offer Day. Local Authorities will notify families of the offer of a school place.

Monday 19 April 2021: Dunraven School will write directly to applicants who have a) been offered a place at the school or b) have not been offered a place and have not been offered a school of a higher preference on their Common Application Form.

Monday 26 April 2021: Waiting list information available to families upon request

w/b 26 April 2021: Appeal packs available for those who wish to consider appealing the decision not to offer a school place

Friday 30 April 2021: Deadline for return of acceptances to Dunraven School and the Local Authority

April 2021*: Second round offers made for any places not accepted in the first round of offers

Friday 4 June 2021: Deadline for submission of appeal forms

w/b 5 July 2021*: Appeals heard

You will receive notification of the date and time of your appeal hearing at least 14 calendar days before your appeal hearing. Any additional evidence you wish the panel to consider must be submitted at least 10 calendar days before your appeal hearing. The clerk will send the appeal papers to you and the panel at least 7 calendar days before your appeal hearing. You will receive written notification of the outcome of your appeal within 7 calendar days of your appeal hearing, wherever possible.

Applications for Current Reception - Year 6

Applications are now open for In-Year places for current Reception to Year 6 for the 2020-21 academic year.

Applications made in the 2019-20 academic year do not carry forward into the 2020-21 academic year. If you have applied previously and have not yet been offered a place, you will need to submit a new In-Year application form. For any questions, please contact the Admissions Office by email to
