A Level Results Day 2025
Posted on: 14 Aug 2025
We are very proud of our Year 13 students on an excellent set of examination results.
Thursday 14 August was a very happy day with many stories of individual success. Whilst it is always unfair to single out individuals when the overall picture is so positive, we would like to highlight students such as Briony Buckney, Tess Fleming and Oscar Sherwen all of whom achieved three A* grades in their A-Levels. Well done also to Vivi Marshall and Laila Janjua Leishman who achieved two A* and an A. The list goes on and we are conscious that it would be possible to choose a huge range of names to mention. Well done all.
Our students’ success can perhaps best be felt in their seriously impressive destinations. We are delighted to see Dunraven students progress to a range of highly competitive institutions, such as Kings College London (7 students), University of Liverpool (4 students), University of Sheffield (4 students), University of Nottingham (4 students), University of Bristol (2 students) and many many more. One student goes on to Oxford University to study Medicine and another to the University of Cambridge to study Education. Again, congratulations to all.
While today is about the students, we remain as a school very proud of our academic achievements as a truly comprehensive school. 28% of all grades were at A*-A, 59% of all grades at A*-B and 83% of all grades at C or above. These are exceptionally strong results, and are testament to the extremely hard work by our students and their teachers throughout their time in school.
The Director of Sixth, Mr Noble-Smith said, ‘Well done Year 13, they have worked really hard and I am very pleased with the positive attitude with which they have tackled their studies, I am delighted that the work ethic exhibited by the year group throughout their two year courses has resulted in such delightful outcomes and wish them every success for the future’
Within these results there are many success stories for subjects such as Geography, Graphics, Drama, Dance, French, Computer Science and Psychology who had significant proportions of students achieving the very highest grades. Similar success can be found around the school with subjects such as English Literature, Art, Politics and Biology all achieving formidable results against a strong backdrop from all.
Days like these are for celebrating: we wish our outgoing Year 13 nothing but happiness and every success as they embark on the next stage of their journeys. We applaud their academic achievements and also the way in which they applied themselves to culture, performance, politics, social action and kindness while at Dunraven. Year 13 leave some large boots to fill. We are sad they are leaving, but look forward to hearing about the details of those bright futures that lie ahead for them.
