European Day of Languages 2020

Posted on: 19 Oct 2020
Key Stage 3 students attended a virtual assembly to celebrate European Day of Languages which invited them to celebrate and promote the cultures and languages spoken in Europe today, either by indigenous or immigrant communities.

The message of the assembly reinforced the National Curriculum for languages' view that 'learning a foreign language is a liberation from insularity and provides an opening to other cultures'.

Our students were subsequently invited to cook a meal from scratch from any community resident in Europe and to provide us with a recipe and ingredients list in the target language. We received lots of wonderful entries and we selected the following four entries as the most impressive. Well done to all competitors; we hope they inspire you!

Well done to:
  • Minna
  • Polly
  • Jaylen
  • María
