Getting started

The background
8ZG have started work in earnest on their news stories for the School Report Day on 11 March.
The students have split into five different groups, with each group putting together a different story. Topics range from dangerous dogs to global warming. Every week, we are lucky enough to have a professional film maker come into school and work with us, and we have also received support from a BBC news journalist.
Filming has already started, and students have interviewed Mr Day about the impact of Olympics 2012; Mr Schmauss has spoken about climate change and the work being done by the school's Eco Ravens; and Mr Boyle was asked about how the recession has affected funding. Our professional film maker was very impressed with the students' ability to plan, prepare and successfully conduct their interviews.
Next week, Ms Lowe and Mr Abdullah will be interviewed about bullying and we're hoping to collect some voxpop footage by going out and about on the streets of Streatham.
