School Report 2010

We have two weeks in which to get all the scripts finished (and memorised), film the remaining interviews and edit the news stories for publication on 11 March. The students are beginning to feel the pressure of a looming deadline! Here's an update from some of our news hounds...

Here at Dunraven School we have been hard at work putting together a video for BBC school report. Our video is all about the effects of global warming. Many interviews have been carried out and we’re not finished yet! Global warming isn’t the only topic we’re doing. We’re covering everything from dog fighting to the recession. Everything has got be finished for our deadline in March. BBC report is lots of fun but hard work! We will keep you updated with all of our pictures as our report begins to come together.

What we have done so far is interview Taj about 2012 Olympics, and if he’ll be ready for 2016 with the training he’s getting now. We found out a lot about how he feels about the Olympics. We also found out that with the right diet and training he’ll be getting faster in the 200 metres.

We went out and interviewed Mr. Boyle about the recession and he gave us some very long and detailed answers. We all took part in filming it; Lianne and Moses did the interviewing, Simona filmed and me (Michael) and Chima did the sound. It was fun and everyone enjoyed it (Lianne was a bit shy of interviewing Mr Boyle but she had fun). We thought up the questions we asked him ourselves and they were pretty good. The questions were –
1.     How do you think Dunraven is being affected by the recession?
2.     Do you feel that you are under pressure to ensure excellent education for your pupils, as well as trying to keep on top of money problems?
3.     Would you say it was a main problem in schools and are you worried about it?
