History in London

On Monday 10th January sixty Year 7 students from 7HS and 7SM travelled to the Museum of London to take part in a Medieval Study Day. The students travelled into London Bridge by train and walked through the City of London taking in the sights of Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, Monument, the ‘gherkin’ and the Bank of England along the way.

Students then were split up into two groups for the day and had the opportunity to explore the museum, take part in a medieval object handling session and finally listened to a drama about the black death of 1348 from an extremely animated character from the museum!

An excellent day was had by all and the students commented on what an experience it was to take in so many sights of the city in one day, as well as gaining a better insight into their new history topic this term of Medieval Realms.
