    ReachOutRCA Studio Day

A year 10 GCSE Art and Design classaccompanied by Ms. Karen Smith and Ms. Laura Daniel were very fortunate to take part in a ReachOutRCA Studio Day  led by 1st Year MA Painting students,  a workshop at the Royal College of Art on the 23rd January 2017. The workshop gave the students a chance to explore ideas and processes relating to the MA student's working practice and to think imaginatively and critically about the work. The students explored abstraction; key research interests for both the MA artists through hands-on activities, producing work inspired by creative ‘rules’ and experimental approaches to painting, as well as an exciting behind-the-scenes tour of the Painting department. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and their active enthusiastic participation reflected well on the calibre of Dunraven students. The work they produced is an asset to their GCSE portfolio. The photographs here mirror the success of the day.

    Dear Families

It was lovely to see our first Primary Prize Winners at Prize Presentation Evening.  These awards were for effort and attainment in Key Stage 1.  Well done to Christopher, Jah’Nai, Kallisha and Ahmed for their amazing effort last year and to Lily, Saffy, Alice and Clovis for their fantastic attainment.  We were very proud to see them on stage alongside our Secondary students.

Thank you to those families who attended our Reception Phonics Workshops.  We hope you found them useful and if you have any further suggestions for forums, please let us know.

We are excited to have been awarded Level 5 from the RHS for their Campaign for School Gardening.  It is their highest award and comes with a brass plaque for us to display.  We are very proud of our garden and a big thank you as always to Mrs Bennett.

Have an enjoyable extended weekend.  See you on Monday.
