Lambeth athletics champions
Dunraven won the Lambeth boys' athletics championships on 9 June. The highlight of the day was the Year 7 team who had an outstanding day in both the track and field.Dunraven dominated many of the events, winning five out of the nine on offer, coming first and second in both high jump and the 100m sprint despite very strong competition. However undoubtedly the most impressive performance came from Amir , Joshua , Louis and Kofi who formed our 4 x 100m relay team and which left a trail of Lambeth schools in their wake - finishing more than 30m ahead of their nearest rivals. This epitomised not only the excellent ability of our athletes, but also their spirit, teamwork and execution of what is a technically challenging event.I would also like to thank all the students for their impeccable attitude and indefatigable efforts on the day - it was a very proud day to be a part of such a successful Dunraven team.Mr B Day

Under-13 girls’ football
Under-13 girls’ football
On Monday 12 November Dunraven travelled to Highbury School to play in the London Cup. Dunraven started the game on the back foot and went 1.0 down. The team grew from strength to strength throughout the game and we came back to draw 1-1.
There was some excellent defending at the back by Esther and Blessing, who managed to keep our fighting spirit going throughout the game. We found our form to go ahead in the start of the second half as Yolonda scored to make it 2.1. Aine dribbled the ball from the halfway line. She tossed and turned a few defenders and hit the ball with her super left foot to score in the top left corner. We celebrated in fantastic Dunraven style.
The game finished 3-1. Well done Dunraven girls. You did your school proud as always. There were exceptional performances from Yolonda, Czarina, Madelena and Grace.

A year in PE
The PE department has produced a yearbook (PDF, 600Kb) with details of some of its many activities over the past year.
There are articles on studies related to the Olympics, the football, basketball, netball and rugby teams. Swimming, the Interform competition, and athletics are all covered. We read how Dunraven's star athlete Jermaine met Phillips Idowu, how 700 students completed the Sport Relief mile, and remember the ski visit.
Finally there is detailed coverage and results from the sports day, held at Crystal Palace stadium in June.
At a time when the media seem to have strong opinions about sport in schools, the new school year promises to be as busy as ever for Dunraven's dynamic PE department.

Year 8 winners were Ms Smith’s 8HS. Excellent performances on the day were Rashaun and Linann who won the 100m sprint, Kelland and Mayline who won the 800m and Raekwon and Frankie who excelled in the discus.
Year 9 was won by Mr Hilliman’s 9PH. Jermaine dominated both track and long jump. Latifah, Keziah and Rebekah also dominated the girls track. Congratulations to all who took part in Sports Day, and a big well done to each tutor group for the support they gave each other throughout the day.

Dunraven Girls' Match Report
The mighty Dunraven girls’ KS3 football team beat Stockwell Park 3-0 on Wednesday 2 May, in an away match, to reach the next round of the London Cup.
A solo effort from striker Mahri saw Dunraven winning 1-0 and was followed up by a long range shot from Keziah to take the lead 2-0 at half time. Dunraven rallied in the second half to show good strength and teamwork, which in turn saw a cracking goal from Aine that looped over the goalie’s head to hit the back of the net. Well done girls!
Two outstanding players were Mahri in Year 9 and Aine in Year 7.
